Varnish
Learn about Varnish, learn more on web accelerators and learn exactly what it is they do.
Varnish is a web accelerator platform, which caches content for the sake of faster access. It’s occasionally called an HTTP reverse proxy too and it works between a web server and an Internet browser. When a visitor loads a specific web page, the content is requested by the web browser, and then the server handles this request and delivers the required content. If Varnish is enabled for a website, it will cache its pages on the very first visit and in case the visitor opens a cached page again, the information will be delivered by the caching platform and not by the server. The boosted loading speed is an end result of the much faster response time that the Varnish platform offers as compared with any server software. At the same time, this does not mean that the visitors will keep seeing the exact same content again and again, as any modification on any of the web pages is reflected in the content that the Varnish platform keeps in its system memory.

Varnish in Shared Website Hosting
In case you host your websites in a
shared website hosting account with our company, you will be able to add Varnish with a couple of clicks via your Control Panel. The data caching platform is available as an upgrade with all our hosting packages and you can choose how many sites will use it and the maximum storage space that will be used for the cached data. The two upgradeable features in the Control Panel’s Upgrades section are the amount of memory and the number of instances and they aren’t directly tied to each other, so you can choose whether you want plenty of memory for one large site or less memory for several smaller ones. You can make use of the full potential of the Varnish platform if the websites use a dedicated IP address. Using the Control Panel, you can swiftly start/restart/deactivate an instance, clear the cached contents independently for each website which uses Varnish or check an exhaustive log file.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers
All our
semi-dedicated hosting plans come with Varnish by default, so you can make full use of the web accelerator tool and increase the speed of any site that you host on our platform. You’ll get 64 megabytes of memory exclusively for Varnish at no extra charge and you’ll be able to activate an instance with no more than a couple of mouse clicks via the Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated plans. If you need more memory, the latter is available in increments of 32 MB in the Upgrades section of the Control Panel and it will be at your disposal momentarily. You can also order more instances as an upgrade, so you can decide if plenty of data will be cached for one website or if the available memory will be used by several sites. The Hepsia Control Panel will enable you to restart or to deactivate any instance, to view the system log for it or to delete the cached data using single-click controls. To get the most out of the Varnish accelerator, you can set a dedicated IP for the websites that will use it.

Varnish in VPS Servers
You can take advantage of Varnish with all our
VPS server packages at no additional cost, as the caching platform is pre-installed and is offered by default. The one and only prerequisite is that the virtual machine must be ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will be able to set up Varnish for any of your Internet sites with just a couple of clicks of the mouse. Each VPS plan features a different amount of system memory for caching purposes, but you’ll have minimum several hundred MB, which is quite enough even for multiple large-size sites. Soon after you activate Varnish, it will begin caching the content that your website visitors request, so you’ll notice the much better web page loading speeds and the lowered load on your Virtual Private Server in no time. The Varnish platform will permit you to use a less expensive VPS server, since you will not require that much power to sustain the proper operation of your websites even if you run resource-intensive sites with numerous visitors. Maximum results are achieved if the websites that use Varnish also use a dedicated IP.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers
If you need a more powerful web hosting solution and you purchase one of the
Linux dedicated web hosting plans that we’re offering, you will be able to use the Varnish platform to improve the work of your Internet sites at no extra cost as long as the server is ordered with our next-gen Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Its easy-to-use interface will enable you to keep track of platform processes, to delete the cached data or to reboot any instance with one single click. The smallest amount of memory that the Varnish caching platform can employ to cache content is 3 gigabytes, which is quite enough for a vast number of repeatedly visited Internet sites, so your dedicated server will be able to handle a colossal load while your site visitors are enjoying a smooth web browsing experience. As your machine will come with a number of dedicated IP addresses, you will be able to use Varnish’s full potential.
